Role: Healthcare Technology Learning & Systems Enablement Specialist
Scale: 57,000+ Clinicians, Technicians, and Operational Users
Tech Stack: Articulate Rise, Camtasia, Cornerstone LMS, Epic-integrated workflows, MedNet IV Pump Management Systems
Project Summary: Developed a large-scale technical enablement solution supporting MedNet, a mission-critical IV pump management ecosystem used within a major healthcare environment. The project focused on helping clinical and HTM teams navigate complex device-management workflows, system status interpretation, and preventive maintenance processes tied to regulatory compliance requirements.
As new technicians joined the HTM team and preventive maintenance tracking requirements increased, the organization needed a scalable training and workflow support solution that reduced reliance on manual device searches while improving confidence in system usage and documentation processes.
With new technicians joining the HTM team and The Joint Commission (TJC) requiring documented preventive maintenance, the healthcare hospital needed a training solution that reduced manual searches and supported compliance through accurate MedNet usage.
Key Challenges: Operational Complexity at Scale
Supporting a large healthcare ecosystem introduced several workflow and operational challenges. With 57,000 users and a massive fleet of devices, the organization faced:
Reliance on manual device searches instead of digital tracking tools
The need for consistent preventive maintenance documentation aligned with Joint Commission (TJC) expectations
Workflow confusion related to device synchronization and system status interpretation
Preparing users to adapt to increasingly data-driven and automated operational environments.
Solution Approach
Rather than building a traditional slide-based course, I developed a workflow-focused enablement experience designed to support onboarding, troubleshooting, and operational readiness in high-volume clinical environments.
Key Features Included:
Visual Status Logic
Implemented simplified color-based status indicators to help technicians quickly identify synchronized, warning, and failed device states during routine workflows.
Interactive Troubleshooting Scenarios
Designed simulation-based exercises that guided users through common device and workflow issues, including synchronization failures and status resolution steps tied to Epic-connected processes.
As healthcare organizations continue exploring automation and AI-assisted operational monitoring, this project also considered how future technologies could support more proactive device management workflows.
Areas explored included:
Predictive maintenance concepts for identifying potential device failures earlier
Workflow standardization to support future reporting and automation initiatives
Structured status-query approaches that improve consistency in technician system interactions
Supported a shift toward digital-first workflows, reducing reliance on time-consuming physical device searches.
Helped standardize preventive maintenance processes and device status interpretation across teams.
Contributed to a scalable enablement solution supporting a large healthcare workforce across a complex device-management environment.
